Today my family and I headed down to Chinatown to celebrate the birthday of a local Chinese Association. The club was appropriately located in the heart of Chinatown, which means one thing…there would be good food & plenty of it!
The main star of the show was a roast pig from Nam Fong. I don’t think there was a single vegetarian in the room…
There was also lots of dim sum ordered from Tai Pan Clockwise from top left: har gao, char siu sou (like puff pastry with stuffed with minced char siu), siu mai, and chiu chow funn gow (a steamed half moon cake filled with peanuts, minced pork, mushrooms and veggies).
Local guavas and Hayden mangos! It was incredibly hot today so I stopped by Thangs for an avocado smoothie (and forgot to take a picture!) It was an exceptionally good avocado smoothie, much better than my previous favorite, Mr.Baguette in San Gabriel. Must be all that condensed milk they put in, hehe. It was soo thick and beyond creamy, just a touch sweet, and most importantly, ice cold!
