Afternoon tea for two ^-^
Ask for window seat, a two-top near the piano man (who has played at The Phoenician since it opened in 1985). First, tea! Darjeeling to start. A solid selection of white, green, black and herbals…no pu’erh or oolongs.
Tea comes in courses. Plates at the table. The waitress presents silver platters with daily offerings. Pick as many as you desire. They do unlimited servings (like The Drake in Chicago)…not so common in the US. Clockwise from top:
Warm scones in classic buttermilk and cranberry…
…with sides of lemon curd, strawberry preserves, and whipped Devonshire cream.
