Rum and Peach Tea Grog

October 29, 2014

Grog is traditionally made with citrus juice, rum, and beer, but we like the use of tea instead of beer (not that we have anything against it, but why use beer when you can have tea?). The combination of peach and lemon provides a sweet and tart complement to the spice of the rum.

Served hot, this beverage is perfect for holiday entertaining or chilly nights around the fire. Make individual mugs as per the recipe below, or quadruple the recipe and keep it warm in your crock pot.

Adapted from Relish.com

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag peach tea
  • 8 ounces boiling water
  • 1 1/2 ounces amber rum
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey (or more, to taste)
  • Lemon slice for garnish

Directions:

  1. Steep the tea in the boiling water.
  2. In a mug, combine tea, rum, lemon juice, and honey.
  3. Garnish with a lemon slice.
